I downloaded the ISO file pitty microsoft didn't include the words repair and recovery in the title. Loaded the file to a flash drive and my desktop PC computer will not recognise it. Tried burning the file to DVD however my windows 10 laptop the desktop PC is the one with trouble tells me the file is too large. I have an AMD laptop and a windows i7 k PC desktop I did burn a start up disc from the laptop however the PC will not recognise the disc, it says it is a non system disc.
I have also burnt a recovery disk from another intel descktop and all I get is that it is not a system disc. I redownloaded the ISO file to an SD card and that worked but only as far as making me type in the product license number then select express or custom install.
It will not go further. I have tried this with two HDD's and the result is the same. I have done two CMOS resets also and this makes no difference.
I managed to get the command prompt screen up but, although entering 'dir' and it shows windows files, it starts off with a directory 'x' and will not change to any other drive. Given this computer is just over a week old I cannot see why it would be a motherboard or BIOS issue, nor the intel chip.

My fantastic windows 10 was acknowledging : c , so I shut down and installed 2 more drives and restarted only to find the boot manager missing. I shut down, uninstalled the two new drives and restarted and still get either BM missing or it requires an installation disc.

When your computer fails to boot to Windows, and you cannot find what's causing it to behave that way, you might find it useful to have a rescue disk at hand.
One can be created with Boot-Repair-Disk, a tool that can diagnose the booting process and help you find a solution. With a very suggestive name, Boot-Repair-Disk can be used as a solution of last resort if nothing else is working. The application is only available in ISO format, which means you can use it to create either a bootable CD or a bootable USB flash drive using a dedicated tool.
Once you have your bootable rescue media, you must plug it in if it is a flash drive or insert it into the drive if it is a CD and restart your computer to boot from it.
The main window enables you to choose the language before proceeding, also displaying menus for mode selection, keymap configuration, and other tools. Boot-Repair-Disk is built on an Ubuntu-like OS, comprising various tools you can work with, including a web browser to access the Internet and find solutions to your problem.
The main utility that should help you with your booting problems is named 'Boot Repair' and it is launched as soon as the Boot-Repair-Disk interface is visible.
You can use this application to analyze the computer configuration and its booting process, and generate a BootInfo summary that can be used to ask for the opinion of anyone else who addresses the issue. What's more important, the Boot Repair tool can perform some recommended repairs if any problem is detected at all , which should be enough to fix common issues.
However, if that doesn't work, you should forward the BootInfo summary to an expert. Boot-Repair-Disk comes in handy in situations when your computer refuses to boot. The package includes Boot-Info and the OS uninstaller tool.
The first can analyze the booting process, and the latter can remove the operating system for good note that this function might result in serious data loss. And although your problem might not be solved completely, it is worth a try. Create your own rescue CD or bootable USB to use as a solution of last resort in case nothing else works when your computer fails to boot to Windows.
